These Terms & Conditions apply to physiotherapy and related services provided by The Preparatory Physio.
By booking an appointment, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Appointments
Appointments are booked in advance through the online booking system or by arrangement directly with The Preparatory Physio.
Standard appointments are 30 minutes. Extended appointments are 60 minutes.
Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you arrive late, your appointment will still finish at the originally scheduled time. This may reduce the time available for assessment or treatment.
If you are running late, please contact The Preparatory Physio as soon as possible.
2. Fees and payment
Appointment fees are displayed at the time of booking and are payable in accordance with the payment options provided.
Where online payment is required, payment is processed securely through Stripe.
The Preparatory Physio reserves the right to update appointment fees. The fee applicable to an appointment will be the fee displayed at the time the appointment is booked.
3. Cancellation and missed appointments
If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or appointments that are missed without notice, may be charged at the full appointment fee.
This policy is in place because appointment time is reserved specifically for you and short-notice cancellations can prevent the appointment being offered to another patient.
In exceptional circumstances, The Preparatory Physio may use discretion regarding the cancellation fee.
4. Assessment and treatment
Physiotherapy assessment and treatment will be based on the information provided by you and the clinical findings available at the time of your appointment.
You are responsible for providing accurate and relevant information about your health, medical history, medication, symptoms and any changes in your condition that may affect your treatment.
You are entitled to ask questions about your assessment or treatment and to withdraw your consent at any time. Consent to assessment and treatment is an ongoing process.
Treatment will only be provided where it is considered clinically appropriate and within the practitioner's professional scope of practice.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
provide accurate and relevant health information;
inform The Preparatory Physio of any significant changes in your health;
follow appropriate advice given as part of your rehabilitation;
tell your physiotherapist if an exercise or treatment causes unexpected or significant symptoms;
attend appointments at the agreed time; and
provide reasonable notice if you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment.
6. Clinical advice and onward referral
Physiotherapy does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment where these are required.
If your symptoms or circumstances indicate that further assessment or treatment from another healthcare professional is appropriate, you may be advised to seek further medical assessment or referred onwards where appropriate.
The Preparatory Physio reserves the right to decline or discontinue treatment where treatment is not clinically appropriate, falls outside the practitioner's scope of practice, or where continuing treatment would not be in the patient's best interests.
7. Confidentiality and personal information
Information provided during your care will be treated confidentially and handled in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and The Preparatory Physio's Privacy Notice.
Clinical records will be maintained as appropriate to support safe and effective care.
Please refer to the Privacy Notice for further information about how your personal information is collected, used, stored and shared.
8. Complaints
The Preparatory Physio aims to provide a professional, safe and high-quality service.
If you are unhappy with any aspect of your care or service, please raise your concerns as soon as possible so that they can be considered and addressed appropriately.

9. Professional standards
The Preparatory Physio provides physiotherapy services in accordance with applicable professional and regulatory requirements.
Physiotherapy is a regulated profession in the UK and is subject to the standards of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
10. Changes to these Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the services provided, booking arrangements, legal requirements or business practices.
The version applicable at the time of booking will apply to that appointment, unless a change is required by law or professional/regulatory requirements.
